WISE Arizona runs on volunteers

WISE Arizona operates because YOU make it work!
We are searching for enthusiastic members to contribute to the success of the chapter by volunteering to serve on (one of) our committees. Please take a minute to review the committee descriptions below and let us know if you are interested in helping.

WISE Arizona Committee Descriptions

Marketing Communications

This committee is the engine behind WISE Arizona's publicity and communications efforts and seeks members with strong communications skills particularly in the areas of marketing strategy, content creation, public relations, and media relations.

Members with press release writing ability, content creation (newsletters/event programs/social media/event registration copy), and visual marketing skills are encouraged to be a part of the marketing team. Chapter members with strong social media strategy, social media activation/production skills, content development experience, design skills, and marketing know-how are also sought for this committee.

Membership

We want every woman in Arizona sports and event industries to know about WISE! The Membership Committee plans recruitment and membership retention activities as well as membership campaigns that will attract women from local sports and event organizations (pro teams, college/university athletic departments, agencies, and other related entities) to join WISE as Corporate Members.

The Membership Committee also oversees the chapter’s “Get to Know WISE Arizona” events. Our Membership Committee knows how to “work a room” at chapter events and activities to make non-members feel welcome and educate them on WISE. Members who enjoy meeting and interacting with a cross-section of new people with experience in sales, recruiting, development, and events are invited to join the team.

Professional Development

To advance our mission as a resource for professional women in the sports business, the Professional Development Committee assists with the development of initiatives beyond core programming events that exclusively offer members additional opportunities for professional growth and development. The Professional Development Committee implements programming such as the chapter’s Book Club and Financial Fitness event.

Members with strong organizational and program planning skills are encouraged to join this committee.

Special Events

The Special Events Committee is the driving force behind the NYC Metro Chapter Women of Inspiration awards event held annually in the fall. Occasionally, the Special Events team will take the lead on events that fall outside of the scope of core programs.

The Special Events Committee is an ideal fit for members with a background in events, production, and event marketing who want to focus on one to two large-scale projects annually. Experience working with non-profit organizations/associations is helpful.

Event Services Team

The Event Services Team supports our program committee chairs behind the scenes and is on-site to handle event-day setup and breakdown for all WISE Arizona events. Event Services volunteers are the faces you see consistently throughout the year greeting you at the registration table as you arrive on-site.

Members who have experience in events, hospitality, client services, operations, customer service, and members who want to be involved on event days are encouraged to get involved with this team.

Interested in volunteering? Complete the application and we'll be back in touch with you soon!
